About Greeson & Fast Design, LLC

Jean and RichardDesign was once described as “re-combining familiar elements in an unfamiliar way.” The same might be said not only about the interiors created by Jean Greeson and Richard Fast, but about their business relationship as well. These dedicated professionals often view new projects from different perspectives, yet the results are always both elegant and unique. It is a dynamic synergy—enhancing one partner’s vision with the strength of the other’s contribution. Between the two, rarely is anything missed. And it’s never second rate.

Richard explains, "We may have different ways of approaching a job, but by the time we’re ready to present the design we’re both on the same page. We are often our own most effective critics."

On an initial appointment, we walk through your home with you and discuss your family’s lifestyle: children and pets, entertaining, interests and hobbies, formality and traffic patterns. What are your goals and budget? Which pieces do you want to keep or replace? Do you want to work color or style around a special upholstery fabric or art piece? In the end, our goal is to have each client walk away having enjoyed the process and loving the final product.

Colorful, bright, and expressive—descriptions of both her personality and her professional eye.

A Kansas City native, Jean’s 26-years of experience includes design consultation for retail home furnishings, lamp design for her own manufacturing company, and both residential and commercial interior design for the public. Her specialty is weaving colors and surface textures into every installation. Her innate sense of style has helped craft interiors in San Diego, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Vale, and other cities across the country. Clients have included professional sports figures, medical professionals, and residential developers.

She says, “In our weekly newspaper column, I try to give readers permission to break out of their routine. People who say they don’t like bold colors will admit they love beautiful sunsets. Often, it’s a matter of finding what the right colors are for them.”

Confident, detailed and dramatic—a fascinating blend of experience and talent.

Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Richard has traveled extensively, and his international exposure allows a sophisticated perspective on classical motifs, architectural integrity and fashion trends. He brings to the partnership a keen sense of space planning, balance and scale. An expert in antiques and architectural detailing, his depth of knowledge and sensitivity to personal preferences provide Greeson & Fast Design clients an assurance of elegance for their custom interiors.

He says, “We chose to locate our studio in Asheville, NC’s River Arts District, an aging industrial area now attracting artists and craftspeople. When clients see how we have transformed a century-old warehouse, it often gives them an understanding of our ability to capture a vision.”

Jill transforms and amazes clients with unexpected solutions to design challenges.

Jill worked her way through college working as a mural artist and interior design assistant. After earning her design degree, she began her professional career as a residential home furnishings buyer, trade show exhibitor, and of course, interior design consultant. Today, Jill’s studio serves as Greeson & Fast Design’s Midwest connection, and allows the firm greater scope for sourcing unique furnishings and coordinating complex installations. The association with this remarkable third designer offers G&F clients an extraordinary level of creative depth.

Jill submits, “There is a moment when a finished design comes together—the parts suddenly become the whole. But that moment is only at the end of the installation, when the lights, at last, come on. And at that moment the client believes in magic."
